Today we took delivery of our new broadband router – one which heralds dizzying broadband speeds for us. Having lived for so long with a snail pace speed of around 6Mbps we are to receive around 38 Mbps. This amazing leap into modernity will happen at some unspecified time tomorrow.
Will it change our lives? No, I don’t think so. Will it make everyday living a little more comfortable ? Nope, can’t say that it will. So why am I so happy about it? Well, because it means our little town, in the almost wild far north of England (at least as far as our government seems to view us) has, at last, caught up with modernity. For now anyway.
